A four-year contract to develop a next-generation anthrax vaccine has been awarded to Emergent BioSolutions by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The company will use the funds to work on its third-generation vaccine candidate, which merges its BioThrax vaccine with VaxImmune, a novel immunostimulatory compound.
