In Brief: Cel-Sci

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has awarded Cel-Sci a $104,000 small-business grant to finance the development of CEL-1000 as a therapeutic treatment for vaccinia and smallpox infections and as a supplement for vaccinia vaccines. The grant follows a $1.1 million grant that Cel-Sci received to develop treatments against viral encephalitis and three other bioterrorism-classified agents.
