Measles Cases Increasing on Oahu
Associated Press;
[08/06/2003]
The Hawaiian Department of Health has identified nine cases of locally acquired measles on Oahu and says that physicians should watch for measles in patients with fever and a rash. There were no cases of measles at all during the same period in 2002, and state epidemiologist Paul Effler says that the cases are cause for worry, given the contagiousness of measles. He urged parents to make sure that their children's vaccination schedules are current.
