
Japan to Provide $5 Million for Children's Health in Afghanistan

A UNICEF campaign against vaccine-preventable diseases among children in Afghanistan received about $5 million in funding from the Japanese government. The money will be used to purchase vaccines and equipment required for the Project of Infections Disease Prevention for Children. Last year, 10 million Afghan children between the ages of six months and 12 years received measles vaccinations and 6 million children were immunized against polio.
