The World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the World Bank jointly released a 116-page report asserting that $250 million per year in additional funding for vaccines and immunization programs would help vaccinate at least 10 million more children against preventable diseases, and an additional $100 million per year in support would increase access to newer vaccines, such as the hepatitis B vaccine. Although 70 percent of children in the world were vaccinated against diseases last year, developing countries have the lowest percentage of vaccinated children and therefore the most preventable deaths per year.
