India will launch a Japanese encephalitis vaccination drive in Gorakhpur that targets children between the ages of six and 15 years. The government has already gathered 40,000 doses of the vaccine from the Kasauli Institute, according to India's principal secretary of health Sugeet Bannerji. Chief medical officers have received instructions from Bannerji to implement prevention measures for infectious diseases in Gorakhpur, which include daily water sample tests, timely chlorination, and repair of old pipe lines.
