Africa News Service;

[12/10/2001]

According to tests done on blood donors, more than 3.5 million Ugandans are unknowingly infected with hepatitis B, says Ugandan Ministry of Health commissioner for health services in charge of immunization Issa Makumbi. Next year, Makumbi is adding the hepatitis B and H. influenzae vaccines to the diphtheria, whooping cough, and tetanus vaccine that children receive.
