An investment of A$100,000 from the Queensland government of Australia will enable researchers at the Cooperative Research Center for Vaccine Technology to continue their search for a vaccine against cytomegalovirus. The disease, although rare, can be passed from mother to unborn children and can cause swelling of the brain, ultimately leading to learning, hearing, and vision impairments.
