Jab Campaign to End Polio Across Central Africa

A massive polio vaccination effort was launched this week in central Africa, targeting 16 million children in Angola, Congo Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Gabon. The vaccination campaign is targeting such areas as refugee camps and volatile border communities. World Health Organization head Gro Harlem Brundtland kicked off the three-month effort in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Thursday.
