Health officials report that cases of measles and meningitis in Niger are down significantly from earlier this year. The medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres reports that, in an effort to prevent future outbreaks, it has vaccinated 600,000 people in the country against meningitis and 700,000 against measles.
