Health officials in Mohave County, Ariz., say close to 120 whooping cough cases have been reported in Colorado City, with 16 new cases reported in the last two weeks. Mohave County epidemiologist Anna Scherzer says as many as 80 percent of residents have not been vaccinated and account for most of the cases. She says parents should ensure their children “have received the correct dosage of a pertussis containing vaccine,” and adults should be re-vaccinated since immunity wanes over time.
