
Kathryn M. Edwards, M.D. is Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Edwards is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as a member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She currently is Secretary Treasurer of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society. She is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Federal Drug Administration on Vaccines and Related Biological Products and serves on several Data and Safety Monitoring Boards for national and international trials.
Dr. Edwards has published over 120 articles, primarily on the topic of pediatric infectious disease, in such journals as New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, and Journal of Infectious Diseases. In addition, she serves as reviewer for numerous publications, including New England Journal of Medicine, Archives of Internal Medicine and Pediatric, Infection and Immunity, and Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal.
Dr. Edwards received her medical degree at the University of Iowa and her residency training at Children's Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University.
