Alan Kohrt, M.D.


Alan Kohrt is a general pediatrician and Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Children�s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. After practicing community pediatrics for 21 years, he currently serves as attending physician and consultant in the Division of General Pediatrics and Diagnostic Center. He is also Director for Market Street Primary Care Center�s Management and Coordination of Care for Children with Special Health Care Needs.

Dr. Kohrt has been active in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and currently serves on the AAP Board of Directors representing the Mid-Atlantic District (III). He has developed several education and quality improvement programs for physicians and their practice staff. The Educating Physicians In their Communities (EPIC) programs focus on immunization and on the Medical Home/Children with Special Health Care Needs. Dr. Kohrt consults with the National Immunization Program of the CDC to assist other states in development of practice based immunization education/QI programs. He currently working with the National Initiative for Children�s Healthcare Quality in the development of state-based immunization and preventive care programs and serves as consultant on the Medical Home Learning Collaborative.

Dr. Kohrt received an AB from Harvard University, cum laude, and his medical degree from New York Medical College.
